SCALA1 5-55 The Grundfos SCALA1 is a compact and flexible domestic water booster system with a Bluetooth interface for water supply and pressure boosting in domestic and light industrial applications (e.g., car washes, water treatment, etc.). With the optionally available SCALA1 twin-pump set, two pumps can be quickly and easily combined into a twin-pump system (standby or assist mode) to increase hydraulic performance or operational reliability. The SCALA1 automatically switches on when the cut-in pressure falls below the set point (SCALA1 3-45: 2.2 bar or SCALA1 5-55: 2.8 bar). A flow sensor integrated into the discharge port safely switches off the pump if it no longer registers any flow. An integrated run-on delay reduces switching frequency, thus protecting the motor from impermissible overheating. Thanks to the water-cooled, highly efficient asynchronous motor, the SCALA1 operates as quietly as a dishwasher. The SCALA1 domestic water booster system can also be used for direct outdoor installation in frost-free conditions thanks to its outdoor protection class IPX4D (protected against splashing water). For compact and quick installation, the SCALA1 is equipped with 5-degree swiveling front R1 connections. The SCALA1 has a non-return valve on the pressure side, which ensures rapid readiness for water withdrawal. A maintenance-free integrated diaphragm pressure tank (0.1 l) prevents excessive pump cycling in the event of minor leaks in the system. The filling and drainage plugs, as well as the pipe connections, can be installed/operated without tools. Thanks to the ergonomic carrying handle integrated into the housing, the SCALA1 can also be used for mobile applications. Using a freely adjustable digital input (normally open or normally closed), additional sensors provided by the customer (float switch, rain sensor, etc.) can offer further convenience for various applications. The hydraulics offer three adjustable suction functions: Normal suction (for inlet operation or pre-pressure), Self-priming (independent priming of air-free water from depths of up to 8 m), and Self-priming Plus (independent priming of aerated water from depths of up to 8 m).
