This achieves an ideal compromise between stock removal, surface quality, temperature load on the workpiece, and tool wear. Increasing the cutting speed results in a slightly finer surface. Increasing the contact pressure makes the surface slightly coarser. The softer the material to be processed, the coarser the surface (when using). An increase in stock removal should be achieved by using a coarser grit and not by increasing the contact pressure, in order to prevent unnecessary tool wear and temperature load on the workpiece. Reducing the contact pressure and peripheral speed, as well as adding grinding oil, reduce tool wear and the temperature load on the workpiece.
